Located in San Francisco and right off of the Golden Gate Bridge, The Presidio has been called home to many different cultures throughout the centuries. In 1776, Spain had found the land and had claimed it as a military fort. Years after, in 1821, Mexico had claimed it for their own and established a city in the nearby lands after they had gained independence from Spain, named Yerba Buena, but is later known as San Francisco. And in 1846, the U.S. Army used it as a base where many generations of soldiers inhabited the land for themselves. It wasn’t until 1994 that the Presidio was declared as a national park.

The park hosts multiple kinds of events throughout the year; such as live seminars, open readings, social gatherings, presentation slideshows, and much more. The Presidio also offers all kinds of restaurants, food events, and park picnics all with a gorgeous view of the Golden Gate Bridge that is practically at your fingertips.

While here, you and your family can enjoy activities such as hiking along the 24-mile trails, use one f the 15 bike areas, or soak up some sun at Baker Beach. If these activities aren’t really your style, then you can explore the streets of San Francisco and find something that is more up to your speed.
