About the Presidio

Located in San Francisco and right off of the Golden Gate Bridge, The Presidio has been called home to many different cultures throughout the centuries. In 1776, Spain had found the land and had claimed it as a military fort. Years after, in 1821, Mexico had claimed it for their own and established a city in the nearby lands after they had gained independence from Spain, named Yerba Buena, but is later known as San Francisco.
